How to Create Contract Group in Swiftly Workspace

Let’s begin by opening Swiftly Workspace.

From the homepage:

  • Click on Configuration

  • Then select Master Data Management

A new window will appear with several sections to manage your organization’s master data.

Step 2: Navigating to Contract Groups

In the Master Data Management panel:

  • Scroll or navigate to the Contracts section

  • Click on Contract Group

This will open the Contract Group setup page where you can view, add, or manage groups.

Step 3: Understanding the Purpose

Contract Groups help categorize different types of contracts for better structure and governance.

They’re useful when you need to apply specific rules, workflows, or visibility based on contract type — like “Vendor Agreements,” “Client Contracts,” or “NDA Groups.”

Step 4: Creating a Contract Group

To add a new group:

  • Click the “+” button at the top right of the Contract Group screen

  • In the new form that appears:

    • Enter the name of the Contract Group

    • Optionally, add a description to provide more context

    • Set the Active status depending on whether you want it to be usable immediately

In this example, we’ll keep the group inactive for now to configure it fully before use.

Once ready, click Save.

Step 5: Editing and Activating a Contract Group

To make edits or activate the group later:

  • Click on the Contract Group from the list

  • Update the name, description, or toggle the Active setting

  • Click Save or Save & Close

Tip: Use “Save” to stay on the current screen, or “Save & Close” to return to the main list.

Step 6: Reviewing Contract Group History

To track changes:

  • Click the (i) icon in the top right corner

  • This opens the logs panel, where you can view:

    • Who created the group and when

    • Who last modified it and when

    • A full list of changes over time

You’ve now successfully:

  • Created a new Contract Group

  • Edited and activated it

  • Reviewed its history logs
