How to Create Country in Swiftly Workspace
Step 1: Accessing the Country Configuration
Let’s begin by opening Swiftly Workspace.
From the homepage:
Click on Configuration
Then select Master Data Management
A new window will pop up.
Scroll to the Address section and click on Country.
Step 2: Understanding the Purpose
The country field is essential for working across borders.
Assigning a country to your customers, partners, and locations allows Swiftly Workspace to:
Format addresses correctly
Prepare for region-based tax rules, tariffs, and compliance in future versions
Inform currency, localization, and reporting logic
Though small, this field plays a big role in making your workspace smarter, cleaner, and globally relevant.
In future versions, country assignments will automatically drive tax rates, shipping conditions, and localized configurations on key business objects.
Step 3: Adding a Country
To add a new country:
Click the “+” button in the top right
Use the country picker to select from the standard list provided by Apple
(This ensures consistency with international naming and formatting standards)
You cannot manually type a country name — selection must come from the predefined list.
Once selected, choose whether the country should be active immediately.
In this example, we’ll activate it now so it can be assigned to customers right away.
Click Save to finalize the entry.
Step 4: Built-in Validations
To ensure data quality:
The system automatically validates against duplicates
You can only assign a country once — no repeated entries allowed
This helps maintain clean, reliable records and ensures every country is uniquely represented.
Step 5: Editing and Activating a Country
To update or deactivate a country:
Click on the country entry
This will open the detail/edit view
You can review the current selection and toggle the Active status.
Click Save when you’re done.
Use Save & Close only once you’ve completed all changes, as it will close the Master Data Management window.
Step 6: Reviewing Country Logs
To review the history of changes:
Click the (i) button in the top right
The logs panel will display:
The user who created the country entry and the timestamp
The last user to update it and when
A complete log of all changes for audit purposes
You’ve now successfully:
Added a new country from Apple’s standard list
Ensured uniqueness with automatic duplicate checks
Activated or updated a country record
Audited changes via the log view
