Daylite alternatives: native CRM for Mac, iPhone and iPad
We make Swiftly Workspace, so read this with that in mind.
If you like Daylite's native Mac feel but need invoices, projects and approved timesheets next to your customers, Swiftly Workspace is the closest native alternative. If your work is mostly selling, HubSpot, Pipedrive and Zoho CRM are built around the sales team, with Mac access that varies.
Daylite has earned its place on many Macs: it puts mail, calendar and customer records side by side in native apps. People look for an alternative for different reasons: they need invoicing in the same app, they want to compare a browser-based CRM, or they simply want to know what else is out there. Every competitor fact below comes from that vendor's own website or App Store listing.

Daylite: the one to beat on a Mac
Daylite's App Store listing calls its iPhone, iPad and Mac apps fully native, with offline data. The app brings mail, calendar, tasks, a sales pipeline and projects together, and estimates live inside opportunities. Its pricing page describes its AI as Apple's Writing Tools for composing email. Pricing is per user per month, with the Leap plan, a single-user plan, and a 14-day trial that needs no card.
Keep Daylite if your day starts in its mail and calendar, if you work offline often, or if estimates are how most of your jobs begin.
Swiftly Workspace: CRM plus invoicing, projects and time
Swiftly is a native Mac app with an iPhone and iPad app, built for service businesses that want the customer and the money in the same place. More on that idea in why a CRM with invoicing beats two separate tools.
- Customers with their contacts and addresses, plus vendors and their bills.
- Invoices, credit notes and proforma invoices on the customer, each starting as a draft a person finalizes, and customer payments allocated to the open invoice they pay.
- Projects as Phases, Work Packages and Tasks, with timesheets that are submitted and reviewed in Timesheet Approvals.
- Forms you can trim: choose which fields are visible, required or carry a default value.
- An advisory VAT check against VIES, which never blocks a save, and a change history on each customer.
- AI with your company's own key for a provider such as OpenAI, Gemini or Mistral, or Apple Intelligence on the device, where the text isn't sent to a cloud AI provider.
- 14 languages to choose from.
What Swiftly doesn't have: there is no mail or calendar in the app, no estimates, and we make no offline claim. If those three are your daily routine, Daylite is the better fit. Our side-by-side comparison with Daylite goes deeper.
HubSpot: a free CRM that grows into a platform
HubSpot offers a free CRM plan and paid seats as your team grows. It has an iPhone and iPad app, and the App Store lists its Mac version as "Designed for iPad", which is Apple's label for an iPad app that runs on a Mac with Apple silicon. Our guide to what Designed for iPad means on a Mac explains the difference. Choose HubSpot if you want to start free and expect marketing and sales tools to follow. Pipedrive: built around the deal pipeline
Pipedrive is priced per seat and lists single sign-on on all its plans. It has an iPhone and iPad app, and the App Store lists its Mac version as "Designed for iPad". Choose it if your team lives in a sales pipeline and wants a CRM organized around deals.
Zoho CRM: generous free tier, wider suite
Zoho CRM is free for up to three users, then priced per user per month. Its app covers iPhone and iPad, with no Mac version listed on the App Store. It suits teams that may later want other apps from the same vendor.
Native, Designed for iPad or the browser: what changes
On a Mac, a CRM can reach you in three ways. A native Mac app is built for the Mac: it follows Mac conventions for menus, windows and keyboard use. A "Designed for iPad" app is the iPad version running on a Mac with Apple silicon, which works but keeps the iPad layout. A browser app runs in a tab and depends on the browser for everything around it.
None of these is wrong. A sales team that lives in a browser all day may never miss a native app. A team that keeps a customer, an invoice and a project open side by side on a large screen often notices the difference within a week. Daylite and Swiftly Workspace are both native on the Mac; HubSpot and Pipedrive offer the iPad version on a Mac; Zoho CRM lists no Mac version on the App Store.
How to choose
- List where your team works: if everyone is on a Mac, a native Mac app matters more than it does for a team that works mostly on phones. Our guide to business software for the Mac covers what to look for.
- Decide whether invoicing belongs in the CRM. If it does, you are choosing between Swiftly and a CRM plus a separate invoicing tool.
- Be honest about mail and calendar. If you want them inside the CRM, Daylite does that.
- Try two options for a week with real customers, then decide.
What to test during a trial
Use real customers, not sample data. Add a handful with their contacts, open them side by side on the Mac, and check the same records on your iPhone an hour later. If invoicing matters, make a test invoice in the tool and count the steps it took. Ask a colleague to try the same tasks without help: the tool they finish with is often the right one.
Frequently asked questions
